Questions
Is this accurate enough for invoices?
We calculate at full floating-point precision and only round for display. Rounding rules for invoices vary by country (half-up versus bankers rounding, and whether VAT is rounded per line or per invoice), so confirm your local requirements before issuing documents.
Does my data leave the browser?
No. The calculation runs in this page on your own device. Nothing you type is uploaded or logged.
Why is my country’s rate different from what I expected?
The dropdown prefills the standard rate. Many goods and services use reduced, super-reduced or zero rates instead — type the correct figure into the rate box to override it.
How do I remove VAT from a total?
Switch to Gross → Net. The tool divides by (1 + rate) rather than subtracting the percentage, which is the common mistake: taking 21% off a €121 gross gives €95.59, not the correct €100.
