Questions
What is the VAT rate in Finland?
The standard Arvonlisävero (ALV) rate in Finland is 25.5%. Reduced rates of 14% and 10% also apply. Typically food, books, medicines, passenger transport and cultural admissions.
How do I add 25.5% VAT to a price?
Multiply the net amount by 1.255. For example, 100,00 € net becomes 125,50 € gross, of which 25,50 € is VAT.
How do I remove 25.5% VAT from a total?
Divide the gross amount by 1.255 — do not subtract 25.5%. A 125,50 € gross total contains 25,50 € of VAT, leaving 100,00 € net. Subtracting 25.5% instead would give the wrong answer.
