Questions
What is the VAT rate in Denmark?
The standard Moms rate in Denmark is 25%. Denmark applies a single standard rate with almost no reduced rates.
How do I add 25% VAT to a price?
Multiply the net amount by 1.25. For example, 100,00 kr. net becomes 125,00 kr. gross, of which 25,00 kr. is VAT.
How do I remove 25% VAT from a total?
Divide the gross amount by 1.25 — do not subtract 25%. A 125,00 kr. gross total contains 25,00 kr. of VAT, leaving 100,00 kr. net. Subtracting 25% instead would give the wrong answer.
What is VAT called in Denmark?
It is known locally as Moms. On invoices you will usually see this abbreviation next to the rate and the tax amount.
