Privacy & Cookies
The short version: ToolsNow tools run locally in your browser, so we never receive the figures you type or the files you open. The pages themselves do load advertising and analytics, which is set out in full below.

Your inputs stay on your device
Every calculator and file tool on ToolsNow runs as JavaScript inside your own browser. The numbers you type, the PDFs you merge and the images you resize are processed in the page and are not uploaded to ToolsNow. There is no upload step, so there is no copy of your inputs for us to store, log, share or lose.
To be precise about what that does and does not cover: files and text entered into local-processing tools stay in your browser. Some pages still make separate network requests for website assets, advertising and analytics, described below. Those requests do not include files or text entered into local tools. The one tool that does send something is the currency converter, covered next.
The one exception: the currency converter
Every tool on this site processes your input locally, with a single exception. Live exchange rates cannot be calculated on your device, so the currency converter requests them from ExchangeRate-API (exchangerate-api.com). Loading that tool means your IP address reaches that service, in the same way it would if you visited any website.
The amounts you type are still never transmitted. Only a request for the current rate table is made; the conversion itself happens in your browser once the rates arrive. Rates are cached in your browser for 12 hours so repeat visits usually make no request at all.
This exception is stated on the currency converter itself as well as here, rather than only in this policy. It is the only tool that sends anything derived from your use of it to a third party; every other tool processes your input in the page. Separately from the tools, as noted above, the pages themselves load advertising and analytics — those requests never carry your files or the text you enter.
What is stored in your browser
We store your light/dark theme choice in your browser’s local storage under the key “toolsnow-theme”, and a cached copy of the currency exchange-rate table under keys beginning “toolsnow-rates”. Neither leaves your device, and clearing your browser data removes both.
ToolsNow does not save tool inputs in browser storage. Reloading or closing the page normally clears the working state; browser form restoration may retain fields. Files you download remain on your device until you delete them.
Analytics
Two analytics services are used, and they behave differently, so it is worth separating them.
Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page views without cookies. It does not fingerprint visitors or track them across sites — it records aggregate information such as which pages were viewed and roughly where traffic came from.
Google Analytics 4 is also loaded on every page. Unlike the Cloudflare beacon, it can set cookies (names beginning with _ga) and assign a randomly generated client identifier so that repeat visits from the same browser can be recognised. It records page views, referrers, approximate location derived from IP address, and device and browser characteristics. IP addresses are used to derive that approximate location and, per Google’s documentation, are not stored or logged by Google Analytics 4.
The site configures analytics storage as denied by default in the EEA, UK and Switzerland. Google tags can still send cookieless measurement requests while storage is denied. See “Consent” for how choices are collected.
What it does not receive is anything you put into a tool. No file, no file name, no pasted text, no extracted colour, no calculation input and no result is ever sent to analytics. Analytics sees which page was opened, not what you did on it.
You can opt out of Google Analytics through Google’s browser add-on, linked below, or manage cookies in your browser settings.
Advertising & cookies
ToolsNow uses Google AdSense to support free access. Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to ToolsNow and other websites. Google’s advertising cookies allow Google and its partners to select and measure ads across those visits. Advertising requests can also include technical information such as your IP address and browser characteristics.
You can opt out of Google’s personalized advertising through My Ad Center. Other participating vendors provide opt-outs through their own websites or the Digital Advertising Alliance’s consumer choices page. The consent message, where applicable, identifies the advertising partners and purposes you can review. These choices affect advertising; they do not stop the tools from working.
Consent
The site uses Google’s consent management service for advertising choices. When a consent message applies to your visit, it lets you review the purposes and vendors and make your choices. Declining consent does not prevent you from using a tool.
For visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland, Google’s advertising and analytics storage starts as denied. An applicable consent message lets you choose which purposes to allow. Google tags may send cookieless requests while storage is denied, as described above.
Use “Privacy choices” in the footer to reopen Google’s message when it is available. If the message is unavailable or does not apply to your location, that link brings you here. You can still use My Ad Center, the Analytics opt-out add-on and your browser’s cookie controls. Clearing cookies removes previously stored choices and may cause a message to appear again.
Outside the EEA, UK and Switzerland, the configured Google consent defaults start as granted. The Google and browser controls linked on this page remain available wherever you are.
Who receives data, and where
Three third parties are involved in running this site. Cloudflare hosts it and provides the cookie-free analytics described above; as the host, it processes the technical request data (such as IP address) that any web server necessarily receives. Google provides both advertising and Google Analytics. ExchangeRate-API provides exchange rates, and only for visitors who open the currency converter.
These providers operate globally, so serving a page may involve processing outside your own country, including in the United States. We do not sell your data, and we do not share tool inputs with anyone, because we never receive them.
There are no ToolsNow user accounts or stored copies of tool inputs. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include, and use that information to handle your request. Avoid sending confidential files or identifiers when reporting a problem; a made-up example is usually enough. Google and Cloudflare describe their handling and retention of advertising, analytics and hosting data in their policies.
Your choices and rights
You can clear locally stored preferences and cached rates through your browser settings. Use the controls above for advertising and analytics. To ask about information you have sent directly to ToolsNow, such as a support email, contact us at [email protected].
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information, object to its use or withdraw consent. Contact ToolsNow with questions about processing associated with this site; we will handle information we control and help identify the appropriate provider where needed. You can also contact your local data-protection authority.
