What survives the merge. Page content — text, images and vector graphics — is copied exactly, at full quality, with no re-compression. Clickable links are kept. Not carried over: bookmarks (outlines), file attachments, and document properties such as title and author, which reset on the new file. Interactive form fields are a particular trap: the boxes still appear on the page but stop being fillable, so merge filled forms only when you no longer need to edit them. Password-protected PDFs must be unlocked before merging — remove the password first with the unlock tool.

Questions
Are my documents uploaded?
No. The merge happens in your browser using pdf-lib. Contracts, invoices and scans never leave your device, which matters when the content is confidential.
How do I control the page order?
Files are merged top to bottom in the list. Use the arrow buttons to move any file earlier or later before merging.
Is there a file size limit?
Only your device’s memory. Everything is held in RAM, so very large scanned documents on a low-memory phone may fail where a laptop copes fine.
What is preserved, and what is lost?
Preserved: all page content — text, images and vector graphics — at full quality with no re-compression, plus page sizes, rotation and clickable links. Lost: bookmarks (the outline sidebar), file attachments, and document properties such as title and author, which reset on the merged file.
What happens to fillable forms?
They stop working, and it is easy to miss. The form boxes still appear on the page after merging, but the underlying form structure is not carried across, so the fields can no longer be filled in or read by software. If you need a form to stay interactive, merge it only after it has been filled and flattened — or keep it as a separate file.
Why does my password-protected PDF fail?
An encrypted PDF cannot be read without its password, so it cannot be merged. The tool tells you which file is protected as soon as you add it. Remove the password first with the unlock tool, then merge the unlocked copy.
