Questions
Is this a real electronic signature?
It produces a visually signed document — the everyday kind that covers most paperwork: contracts between parties who trust each other, forms, approvals. It is not a certificate-based digital signature with cryptographic identity proof; where a counterparty or regulator requires that (some jurisdictions do for specific documents), use a dedicated e-signing service.
Is my document uploaded to be signed?
No — and for signing that matters more than for most tools, since the documents involved tend to be contracts and personal paperwork. The PDF is rendered, the signature drawn, and the two combined entirely on your device.
Does signing change the document quality?
No. The signature image is placed onto the page as an object; the page itself is not re-rendered, so text stays selectable and print quality is unchanged. File size grows only by the size of the small signature image.
Can I sign a specific page of a long document?
Yes — choose the page number and its preview loads. One signature per pass; run the result through again for multiple signature fields.
The PDF will not open — why?
It is probably password-protected, and an encrypted file cannot be edited without the password. Remove the password first with the unlock tool, then sign the unlocked copy.
