Working calendar — weekend pattern & holidays

Which days are non-working each week.

Preset public holidays to exclude.

Any YYYY-MM-DD dates found in this box are also excluded.

How the counting works. The start date is never counted — counting begins on the following day. When counting between two dates, the end date counts if it is a working day. When adding business days, weekends and selected holidays are skipped and the result is always a working day, so ten business days from a Monday is the Monday two weeks later. A zero-day offset returns the start date, moved to the next working day if it falls on one.

Contracts, courts, employers, and government agencies may use different deadline-counting rules. Confirm the applicable rule when calculating an official or legal deadline. Holiday presets cover national public holidays only for the years shown and exclude regional observances — check your local calendar.

How to use

  1. Choose a mode. Between two dates counts the gap; Add / subtract finds a deadline.
  2. Enter your dates. Total days, business days and the number of skipped days appear immediately.
  3. Open the working calendar to change the weekend pattern or switch on a holiday preset.
  4. Add custom holidays as YYYY-MM-DD dates for company closures or regional days off.

Questions

Is the start day counted?

No. The start day is excluded and the end day is counted if it is a working day. That matches how notice periods and delivery windows are usually quoted — "10 business days from Monday" lands on the Monday two weeks later.

Can I use a non Sat–Sun weekend?

Yes. Open the working calendar section and choose Fri–Sat or Thu–Fri, which are the standard weekends across much of the Middle East.

Which holidays are included?

Optional 2025–2027 presets for US federal, UK (England & Wales) and Netherlands national holidays, covering national public holidays only and using the observed weekday where a holiday falls on a weekend. You can paste any additional YYYY-MM-DD dates into the custom box — regional, religious and company holidays are not included.

How do I subtract business days?

Switch to Add / subtract and enter a negative number. The tool walks backwards, skipping weekends and holidays the same way.
