How to use
- Work out the target in UTC. The date-time field does not use your local time zone. Include any date change when converting a local event time to UTC.
- Enter the date and time. The counter starts immediately. For example, from 1 October at 00:00 UTC to 2 October at 12:00 UTC is 1 day and 12 hours, or 36 hours in total.
- Copy a snapshot if needed. Copy results copies the displayed duration at that moment, not a live countdown link.
Questions
What does entering 18:00 mean?
It means 18:00 UTC on the selected date, wherever your device is. It does not mean 18:00 in your current location. Share the target date and its UTC label when other people need to enter the same event.
Will it keep counting in a background tab?
The browser may pause or slow screen updates in the background. When updates resume, the countdown recalculates from the device clock rather than assuming every timer tick occurred. An incorrect device clock will affect the result.
Does it alert me when time runs out?
No. This is a visual counter without an alarm or notification. After the target passes, it shows how long ago that moment was.
