Questions

What is the VAT rate in Greece?

The standard ΦΠΑ (FPA) rate in Greece is 24%. Reduced rates of 13% and 6% also apply. Typically food, books, medicines, passenger transport and cultural admissions.

How do I add 24% VAT to a price?

Multiply the net amount by 1.24. For example, 100,00 € net becomes 124,00 € gross, of which 24,00 € is VAT.

How do I remove 24% VAT from a total?

Divide the gross amount by 1.24 — do not subtract 24%. A 124,00 € gross total contains 24,00 € of VAT, leaving 100,00 € net. Subtracting 24% instead would give the wrong answer.

What is VAT called in Greece?
