How to use
- Enter the amount to tip on. Use the bill or subtotal you have chosen, and check whether a service charge is already included.
- Set the percentage and headcount. An €80 bill with a 15% tip totals €92. Split between two people, each pays €46, including €6 of tip.
- Choose whether to round up. Round the total up makes the group total a whole currency unit and adds the difference to the tip.
Questions
Which tip percentage should I use?
Choose it for the service and local custom, taking any service charge into account. The presets are arithmetic shortcuts, not a recommendation. Set the percentage to 0 if no extra tip is needed.
What does rounding change?
For a €41 bill at 15%, the total is €47.15. Rounding up makes it €48 and the tip €7, so the final tip is higher than 15%. A total that is already a whole unit stays unchanged.
Does changing currency convert the bill?
No. The currency selector changes formatting only. Enter the bill and read the result in the same currency.
