Reference rates are provided by Rates By Exchange Rate API. Check the update date above. Banks, cards and exchange services may use different rates and add fees. Use this as an estimate and check the provider’s quote for an actual transaction.
How to use
- Enter the amount. Type in Amount, then choose the From and To currencies. Use the swap button to reverse them.
- Check the date and rate. Read Rates updated below the common amounts. The exchange rate is for one unit of your starting currency.
- Copy your estimate. Use Copy conversion. Allow for any card fees, transfer charges or exchange spread before making a payment.
Questions
Why is my bank’s rate different?
These are reference rates, not a quote to exchange money. A bank or payment service may use a different rate and add fees. For the amount you will actually pay, check its quote or statement.
How fresh are the rates?
The provider updates daily, and this browser reuses a fetched table for up to 12 hours. Refresh rates checks again but still uses a valid cache; it does not force a new table. Use the displayed update date when judging an estimate.
What is sent over the internet?
The tool requests a rate table from ExchangeRate-API, which receives connection details such as your IP address. Your typed amount is calculated locally and is not included in that request. Local calculation does not mean the page makes no network requests.
Can I convert without a connection?
You can keep calculating with a table already loaded in this tab. Reopening depends on the page being available and the rate cache still being valid. Do not rely on an offline visit for a current exchange rate.
