Questions
Do these codes expire?
No. The code contains your data directly, so there is no redirect service in the middle and nothing to expire or start charging. Many free QR sites generate a short link that points at their server — if that service disappears or starts charging, every code you printed stops working.
Which error correction level should I use?
M is the sensible default. Use H for anything printed, placed on a curved surface, or likely to get scuffed — it can still be read with roughly 30% of the code damaged, at the cost of a denser image.
Can I change the colours?
Yes, but keep strong contrast between foreground and background, and keep the foreground darker than the background. Inverted or low-contrast codes fail on many scanners.
Why does the code get denser as I add text?
A QR symbol has fixed capacity per version. More data means a higher version and more modules, which means each module is physically smaller when printed at the same size. For long URLs, shorten the link before generating.
Is my Wi-Fi password sent anywhere?
No. The whole code is generated in your browser, which is exactly why this is safe to use for network credentials and contact details.
