How to use

Choose Generate and How many. Pick Paragraphs, Sentences, Words or List items, then enter a whole number from 1 to 200.
Check the opening phrase. Turn off Start with “Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet” if you need an exact word or sentence count; it adds an opening sentence.
Choose the output format. Plain text is ready for a text box. HTML includes markup. Use Copy text or Download to take the result.

Questions

Why did I get more words than I requested?

The opening-phrase option adds "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit." before the generated text. That is eight extra words and one extra sentence. Switch it off for an exact Words or Sentences count.

What tags does the HTML option produce?

Paragraphs are wrapped in <p> tags, and List items become a <ul> containing <li> elements. Words and Sentences are placed in a single <p>. It is an HTML fragment rather than a complete web page.

Can I get the same text again?

Yes. The same options produce the same text. Changing the count can change the wording throughout, so copy the result if you want to keep a particular version.

When should I replace the placeholder?

Before checking if a design works with real content. Placeholder text can help you test spacing, but it will not reveal an awkward button label, a long customer name or a heading that needs another line.
